Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, I always dreamed of being on the radio, especially Z100. I grew up listening to the hit station, especially Elvis Duran and the Z100 morning show. Now I have to pinch myself every time I get on the mic. I broadcast live every day from 2am to 5am on the very same station I listened to as a kid. I must admit, dreams really do come true.
My road to Z100 was a long one, but it taught me the importance of working hard and paying dues. In fact, I started my career interning with Elvis Duran and the Z100 Morning Show, alongside other stints at Jive Records and MTV. Never turning down an opportunity to showcase my on-air talent, I caught the attention of the morning crew with my willingness to speak candidly about my personal life, which the gang found very amusing. This occasionally got me invited on air to offer opinions on current events, and I loved being able to share my personality with millions of listeners.
After completing the internship, I landed a show of my own at GOOM Radio, a digital radio start-up from the minds of the executives at Clear Channel and Google Audio. During my time there, I hosted my own Top 40 radio show, interviewing some of music’s biggest stars, including Demi Lovato, Kesha, The Script, Sean Kingston, Taio Cruz, Ariana Grande, and almost every teen star on Nickelodeon. With GOOM, I became even more confident behind the mic, and I realized my true talent was just being myself! In a way, you could say I was born to do this.
Following my time at GOOM, I worked a variety of gigs, including on-air shifts at 98Q in Danbury, Connecticut and WBLI in Long Island. I co-hosted the nationally syndicated radio show, “Zach Sang and the Gang,” which broadcasts on 30 stations across the country. During my time there, I hosted a weekly on-air segment with People Magazine. In addition to my radio repertoire, I also worked as an on-camera reporter for Clevver TV, interviewing such stars as Vanessa Williams, Tyler Perry, Tim Burton, and the entire cast of LOST.
Now I’ve come full circle. I’m back on Z100, the station I listened to as a kid in Brooklyn and the station that gave me my first opportunity as an unknown talent. I couldn’t be happier with where I’m at today, and I must say, dreams really do come true.
